agmen: About-face in the debate about the liberalisation main cell-set?
About-face in the debate about the liberalisation main cell-set?
Already for a long time in the Bundestag the liberalisation of the main cell law of 1991 one debates. In Germany it is to be won forbidden from embryos main cells, for good reason: The embryo would be used, killed thereby. In principle also the import and the using research with human embryonic main cells are illegal and only under strict editions permitted.
The research and industry complain about this strict main cell-set and refer to the foreign country, where in some countries the research with human embryos up to 14. Life day permitted actual which is ethicalally most contentious. It is maintained that up to this time still no individual humans developed, since the formation of the primitive strip of the central nervous system takes place only after the four tenth development day. Many researchers speak from there in the first life days of an embryo of a präembryonalen stage or a Präembryo. From this the legislation derives a weakened obligation to protect the embryo up to then.
After Christian understanding this practice is untenable. One is humans and person, a God intended nature from fertilization, one develops not to humans and to the person, but as humans and as a person.
With main cells those becomes the body of adult between adulten, who Plazenta or the navel cord blood differentiated taken, and embryonic, which are won at the expense of the embryo. The production embryonic main cells is an act of killing, which embryos destroyed. For this reason the production and research with embryonic main cells are to be forbidden and should under no circumstances with public means be promoted and financed.
It is long well-known among scientists that embryonic main cells for transplant ion purposes and/or for the healing of diseases are not suitable. With transplants into human fabric it would come due to from Onkogenen to the tumor formation, which with adulten main cells the case would not be. The cells can be differentiated which meant the fact that the Tumorrisko can be lowered and in the all-most favorable case up to 90%, however „seizes it […] never all cells. “[1]
For this reason are hope, so the cell biologist and human physician Volker duke to heal with embryonic main cells diseases extremely unrealistically and a wrong track. Therefore is also the whole debate about the liberalisation of the Stamzellengesetzes paradoxically [2] and to the current point of state of research would not correspond.
And - at the latest two weeks ago ago became the proponents of the shifting of the deadline the last argumentation ground entrissen: Two scientific newspapers had brought the sensational message over a break-through with the stem cell research. The researcher team around Yamanaka and Thomson succeeded in by Umprogrammierung of adulter main cells manufacturing main cells with the power of embryonic main cells. If these results should be confirmed, problem-free embryonic main cells without the killing could be produced by embryos. Therefore the CDL chairmen Mechthild Löhr consequences for the legislation demand: „We do not need no change main cell-set, but a prohibition of the redundant and ethicalally using embryo research which can be answered for and to ethicalally harmless and many promising research beginnings. “
Due to this sensational research success considerable researchers have such as Ian Wilmut [3], which although it the license for the cloning have and at embryos research may, turned away from the using embryo research.
Despite this clear state of affairs research minister Schavan pleads further for the loosening embryo-protection-set. And that, although it is attained a doctorate Katholikin and engaged itself Laienkatholikin calls. The Fuldaer bishop Heinz Josef Algermissen in addition the following means: „As a politician Mrs. Schavan is in a position of constraint. That changes however nothing in the fact that there can be a fundamental answer in a fundamental question only. Where it concerns life and death, each compromise forbids itself “. [4]
It is thus at Mrs. Schavan and their fellow combatants to appeal their position consider and itself not perfect the industry anzubiedern. In view of the fact that the research with embryonic main cells is ethicalally extremely despicably and research-politically not necessary, jedweder comment is actually unnecessary.
